Day 19 August 4

Becky suggested the Scripture tonight be I Peter 4:11 which says, " If anyone speaks, he should do it as one speaking the very words of God. If anyone serves, he should do it with the strength God provides, so that in all things God may be praised through Jesus Christ. To Him be the glory and the power for ever and ever. Amen".

Becky slept until after 8 this morning and I was beginning to wonder about her. In fact I went in to make sure she was OK. She had gone to bed about 9 last night. I think she was in withdrawal because the Cardinals weren't on TV. Ha!!

We got our first mail today at the new apartment, (except for the last residents mail). Becky got a note from a lady she knew from one of their first ministries who heard about her illness from the blog. She was so thrilled to hear from her and hopes to keep in touch now.

Becky walked the hallway twice today with 2 laps each. She has not felt as good today as the last few days. She has some achiness in her chest so we called the office since it's something new and they said to call if anything was different. After talking to the nurse they decided to just watch her temperature more today and if the ache went further in the chest or hurt more that she should call them back. She did a lot of deep breaths yesterday when they were trying to get the port to work and she also pushed the wheelchair a little bit on her own when we were going through doorways. Hopefully it's just a muscle strain and it will resolve in a few days.

While she took a nap today, I watched the video they gave her on the transplant procedure and got a few more tips on things to do. One thing that was said was "fatigue from a stem cell transplant is not the same as being tired. Too much sleep causes fatigue to get worse and you need plenty of exercise". We are going to try and do more exercises in the room at first and then maybe do more walking.

We watched a ballgame today, on the computer, of our niece, McKenzie Martin, playing in a tournament in South Bend, IN. They got beat but it was a good game.

Not much else from here today. She continues to rest and eat well.

Love,
Becky and Barb
